The list of musical talent for the Gaither Heartland Homecoming series concert just keeps growing.
Aaron Jeoffrey, a father and son duo, have just been added to the list of performers.
The two have released their third album, "The Climb," and will perform several songs during their concert here.
Other artists include many gospel groups like Ben Speer, Garry "Taco" Jones, Ivan Parker, Sue Dodge, Ann Downing and Jessie Dixon.
And even more surprises are expected, event organizers say.
Heartland Homecoming is being billed as the biggest single day of Christian music for the year. Tickets for the June 19 concert and seminars are available at the Show Me Center box office and area Christian bookstores.
Event organizer Wade Cardwell wants to fill the Show Me Center with more Christian music lovers than wrestling fans.
"We need to sell out for Jesus and not for wrestling," he said.
Show Me Center marketing directors hope that Cape Girardeau's central location and the area's roots in tradition, church and good music will help sell tickets.
There are already 11 different Christian music acts, many of them local, slated to perform as part of a national talent search. Nearly 80 acts performed in late May as part of the talent competition. Judges then selected 22 and narrowed the field to 11 musicians who will perform during the afternoon of June 19.
And music isn't the only activity of the day. Seminars on parenting led by Focus on the Family representatives, sessions on music writing and songwriting also are planned.
Church choirs and individuals can join in the Heartland Homecoming Choir to perform on stage by attending a seminar session with Ben Speer. To register or for more details, call Cardwell at 243-7116.
