Heartland Crafts is the newest addition to downtown Cape Girardeau.
The new arts, crafts and gift shop 5 N. Main, on the second level of the building that houses Heartland Antique Emporium, is holding its grand opening this weekend.
"The grand opening started Saturday and will continue from noon to 5 p.m. today," said Sharon Hahs, who operates the business. "We have 14 arts and crafts dealers and we will be expanding that in the near future."
The business features hand-crafted items, clothing, jewelry, dolls, floral arrangements, and Precious Moments gift items.
During grand-opening activities today, individuals may register for a $100 gift certificate. "Refreshments will be served," said Hahs.
Greg and Sharon Hahs are owners of the building, which already houses more than 25 antique and collectible dealers on the first level.
"We're new, we're growing and we're anxious to get acquainted," said Sharon Hahs.
The store recently adopted new hours, which include evening hours on Fridays. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
