A free heart seminar entitled "Heart Disease Across the Life Span," which was cancelled due to severe weather earlier this year, will be presented by Southeast Missouri Hospital's Regional Heart Center Tuesday. It will begin at 7 p.m. at Drury Lodge.
Guest speakers for the program are Cape Girardeau cardiologist, William K. LaFoe and Cape Girardeau cardiovascular surgeon, J. Darryl Ramsey. Regional Heart Center Coordinator, Linda Heitman, will introduce the program and act as a moderator.
The physicians will address questions posed by the audience about many facets of heart disease seen across the spectrum of the human life span. Topics will include genetic and family influences, steps to reduce the risk of heart disease, and effective treatments for cardiovacular disorders.
The program is open to the public free of charge.
Free literature, door prize drawings, refreshments, and free "HeartSmart" Cholesterol Screening Certificates will be available to all who attend. Seating is non-reserved. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, phone Linda Heitman at 651-5541.
