The pretrial hearing for a man facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the fatal beating of an Anna, Illinois, man was rescheduled for 1 p.m. May 5.

Travis D. Turner, 26, of Dongola, Illinois, is accused of beating to death James H. "Jimmy" Morrison, 46, in April 2014.

Jessie Bell, 35, also is charged with first-degree murder for his role in the incident.

According to documents filed in the case, Bell struck Morrison in the head with his fists, and Turner struck the victim with a piece of lumber.

Both defendants have pleaded not guilty.
