JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Attorneys expect to conclude testimony today in a hearing alleging the wrongful conviction of Joshua C. Kezer, incarcerated in Jefferson City for a 1992 Scott County murder.

Last week, attorneys for Kezer presented a handful of witnesses during a two-day hearing held in Cole County Circuit Court challenging Kezer's armed criminal action and second degree murder conviction in the killing of Angela Mischelle Lawless.

The Missouri State Attorney General's Office, opposing the motion for Kezer's release from a 60-year prison sentence, argued that enough evidence still supports the 1994 murder conviction.

Today, David Rosener, one of Kezer's attorneys during the June 1994 trial, is expected testify as the final witness in the case.

Cole County Judge Richard Callahan will then review evidence in the case and make a determination on whether to uphold the conviction, order a new trial, or grant the motion for Kezer's exoneration.

Kezer was convicted for the murder of college student Angela Mischelle Lawless, who was found dead near Benton, Mo., in 1992.

We'll have updates from the hearing later today on seMissourian.com.
