Learning a new eating style to match a healthy lifestyle is not always an easy task. However, a cholesterol treatment program, entitled Eater's Choice, at St. Francis Medical Center can make that learning experience easier. Learning a new eating style to match a healthy lifestyle is not always an easy task. However, a cholesterol treatment program, entitled Eater's Choice, at St. Francis Medical Center can make that learning experience easier.

The class, which consists of six 90-minute weekly sessions, will be held on Oct. 29, Nov. 5, 12 and 19, and Dec. 10. The beginning class will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the remainder of classes will be held from 7-8:30 p.m.

Persons registering for the class will be taught how to order when eating out, to calculate fat content of a product, to read and interpret food labels, to eat just about any food and still stay within guidelines, and to modify recipes to decrease fat content while keeping the flavor.

During the class, participants will receive two blood cholesterol checks, Eater's Choice Book, Eater's Choice workbook, a passbook to monitor fat intake, and up-to-date information on cholesterol, heart disease and new food products.

Cost is $90 per person or $100 per couple. Classes will be held in the Friends Lounge of the Education Center at St. Francis Medical Center.
