CONCORDIA, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities confirm the discovery of a burned, headless body along Interstate 70, about 60 miles east of Kansas City.
The Kansas City Star reports on its Web site Thursday that Lafayette County deputies confirmed that the man's body was found northeast of Concordia. Deputies made the discovery Wednesday after a resident who was repairing a fence spotted the body.
Investigators say the nude body was partially burned, with its hands and head cut off. They believe the victim was a white or mixed-race male about 6 feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds.
An autopsy was being performed Thursday at the Jackson County medical examiner
