HAYTI -- Hayti aldermen have hired First St. Louis Securities Inc. to handle the sale of the city's $2 million water and sewer improvement bond issue.
Duane Mitchie, president of First State Bank of Caruthersville, told aldermen at a recent meeting: "We feel comfortable with St. Louis Security We looked at other firms also, but feel that First St. Louis Security offers the best deal.
Mitchie, who resides in Hayti, has been helping guide the city through the bond process.
The aldermen also named Mercantile Bank of St. Louis as its paying agent for the bond issue.
