The world famous Harlem Globetrotters will hit the court at the Show Me Center on Jan. 13 as part of their 2014 "Fans Rule" World Tour. The world famous Harlem Globetrotters will hit the court at the Show Me Center on Jan. 13 as part of their 2014 "Fans Rule" World Tour.

The Globetrotters will return to Cape Girardeau to thrill fans and bring new twists to their special style of basketball, according to a news release from the Show Me Center, Last year, the Globetrotters let fans vote on new rules to be used in games; the new rules were so popular the Globetrotters are implementing them again during this year's tour.

Fans will be able to choose between three new rules during the Globetrotters' appearance:

* "Hot Hand Jersey": A player wearing this jersey gets double the points when scoring.

* "Make or Miss": The quarter starts with two players on each team. When a team scores, a teammate may enter the court. When they miss, a teammate must leave the court.

* "Trick Shot Challenge": The teams challenge each other on trick shots, with five points awarded to a team the makes the shot and five points to the opposition if the shot misses.

Fans should visit harlemglobetrotters.com/rule to vote for their favorite rule.

The Harlem Globetrotters game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for Magic passholders and at 6 p.m. for all others. Tickets are $81, $56, $41, $28 and $23 and may be bought at the Show Me Center box office, calling 651-5000 or visiting showmecenter.biz. Children 2 and younger do not require a ticket.
