HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) -- Hannibal could become the latest Missouri town to ban smoking in public places.
The Quincy Herald-Whig (http://bit.ly/vhKKKK ) reports that councilman Richard Draper is proposing a ballot measure that would prohibit smoking in all indoor public places and in city vehicles. The council will consider the measure Tuesday.
Draper wants to put the issue on the April 3 municipal ballot.
Several Missouri communities have instituted smoking bans in recent years, including St. Louis, O'Fallon and Kirksville.
