Children ages 2-12 can participate in a variety of events Oct. 23 as part of "Halloween Happenings" at the A.C. Brase Arena Building in Cape Girardeau.
Among the activities are a 6 p.m. coloring contest for children ages 4-7 and a pumpkin-carving or decorating contest for children ages 8-12. At 6:30, magician Darrin Davis will perform. At 7, there will be a costume carnival for children ages 2-10.
There is no fee for participants in the event, which will include a hay maze in the Arena building and other games and activities.
The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring Halloween Happenings. To register, call the department at 335-5421 or go to the A.C. Brase Arena Building and complete the appropriate application form.
