Halloween Happenings will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.
Activities start at 6 p.m. with a coloring contest for children ages 3 and 4 and for children ages 5 to 7. A pumpkin carving or pumpkin decorating contest will be held for children ages 8 and 9 and ages 10 to 12. Participants must bring their own pumpkin, carving tools and supplies.
A costume carnival will follow, starting at 7 p.m. Participants ages 2 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12, will need to be entered in one of the following categories: funniest, scariest, cutest or most creative.
At 8 p.m., after the costume carnival, magician Darren Davis will perform.
In addition, a hay maze and other games will be held inside the building.
Halloween Happenings is free. Children can be registered by calling 335-5421.
