Halloween Happenings will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department. Activities start at 6 p.m. with a coloring contest for children ages 3 and 4 and for children ages 5 to 7. A pumpkin carving or pumpkin decorating contest will be held for children ages 8 and 9 and ages 10 to 12. Participants must bring their own pumpkin, carving tools and supplies...

Halloween Happenings will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.

Activities start at 6 p.m. with a coloring contest for children ages 3 and 4 and for children ages 5 to 7. A pumpkin carving or pumpkin decorating contest will be held for children ages 8 and 9 and ages 10 to 12. Participants must bring their own pumpkin, carving tools and supplies.

A costume carnival will follow, starting at 7 p.m. Participants ages 2 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12, will need to be entered in one of the following categories: funniest, scariest, cutest or most creative.

At 8 p.m., after the costume carnival, magician Darren Davis will perform.

In addition, a hay maze and other games will be held inside the building.

Halloween Happenings is free. Children can be registered by calling 335-5421.
