The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department Saturday will sponsor Halloween Happenings at the Cape Girardeau Junior High School gymnasium. Activities are free.
Several activities are planned for the event, including a coloring contest for children, ages 4-7, beginning at 6 p.m., and a pumpkin-carving and decorating contest for children 8-12. Participants are asked to bring their own pumpkin, carving tool and supplies.
At 7 p.m. there will be a costume carnival for children 2-10. Children may register for the event by calling the Parks and Recreation Department or by completing a form available at the A.C. Brase Arena Building. The phone number is 335-5421.
