One half of the Habitat for Humanity house that was constructed on a Southeast Missouri State University parking lot on Broadway has now been moved to its permanent location on 1640 N. Main St., and is resting on its foundation. The move started around noon, though prep work to get the house ready for transport began several hours earlier.
Around noon, half of the house was moved, stopping traffic on Broadway for a brief time. The first half of the house was being readied to place on its foundation with a crane just after 1 p.m.
Around 3 p.m. the section of the home was actually attached to the crane that lowered it onto the foundation. The house was finally placed on its foundation around 5 p.m.
The house was to be moved Tuesday, but high winds forced a delay.
Check back for more details later.
