Police officers responded to a call of shots fired Thursday morning at a Cape Girardeau intersection, but there were no injuries. The call reporting gunfire at the intersection of Hanover Street and Jefferson Avenue came in at 9 a.m. Officers who responded to the scene spoke with residents at 303 S. Hanover St. who claimed a man entered their home and threatened them with a long gun, police Sgt. Barry Hovis said. No one was in custody as of Thursday afternoon, and so far police have found no evidence of shots actually being fired.
