The Missouri Department of Conservation, in cooperation with Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838, is conducting a hunter education class Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the VFW Post, 1049 N. Kingshighway.
The course will include gun safety, information about firearms and ammunition, responsibilities of the outdoorsman, outdoors ethics, and the role of the hunter and hunting in wildlife management and conservation.
There is no charge for the class and no pre-registration, but participants are urged to bring a pencil and proof of age. Additional information concerning the course is available by calling 290-5730.
All hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1967 are required to complete a hunter safety course before they can purchase a hunting license.
