Sgt. Miller is the son of Burel and Carol Miller of Dongola, Ill., and a 1985 graduate of Dongola High School.

He joined the Marine Corps in 1985 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Before being deployed to the Middle East, he was stationed aboard the USS Okinawa. He has a wife, Beverly and two daughters, Ashley and Amber.

"He really needs mail fro people back home to keep his spirits up, and he would appreciate any kind of care packages," said hismother.
