CAPT. MIKE SMYTH

U.S. AIR FORCE

Capt. Smyth is the son of Jim and Ann Smyth of rural Dexter, formerly of Cape Girardeau.

Stationed in Saudi Arabia since Dec. 26, Smyth is with the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing. He is trained to fly the F-15-E (Strike Eagle) Jet Fighter.

His permanent base is the Seymour-Jackson Air Force Base, N.C.

He is a 1980 graduate of Cape Central High School.

Smyth went on to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University in 1984. He was active in the Air Force ROTC program at the university, and upon graduation, was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant.
