Sgt. Driscoll is the son of James and Cathy Driscoll of McClure, Ill. He is a 1984 graduate of Shawnee High School.
He was previously stationed at Scott Air Force Base near Belleville, Ill., where his wife, dorothy and sons Bryan and James live.
His mother said when she asked his opinion of the war in the Gulf, he replied he wished for people to continue to pray for a safe and fast return for all the men and women stationed with him.
