PETTY OFFICER TIM ROTH

Roth, the son of Ron and Judy Roth of Cape Girardeau, graduated from Cape Central High School in 1982, and enlisted the same year.

He was stationed in Sardinia, Italy before his ship was sent to the Gulf region. He works with weapons on board his ship, the USS Orion.

His wife, Debra, who is originally from North Carolina, is now living in Italy.

His mother said Roth can't say exactly where his ship is situated.

"He has called twice," she said. "He misses contact with people other than his shipmates. He would really like to have letters from home, from people he graduated with. He wants to know how everyone is and what they're doing."
