He is married to the former Cathie Shelton of Metropolis, Ill.
He is an officer of the USS America with a squadron of F-18 Fighter Aircraft.

He was sent to Saudi Arabia in December.
His mother said he enjoys mail from family, friends and former classmates and fraternity brothers. He also likes receiving newspapers and homemade cookies, she said. "Tim says mail really boosts the fella's morale," she said.
