Sgt. Young is the son of Tim and Carolyn Young of Cape Girardeau.
He has been stationed in Saudi Arabia since Jan. 1.
Young graduated from Cape Central High School in 1983 and Southeast Missouri State University in 1987, with a bachelor's degree in geography/cartography.
He was previously stationed at Mae Dill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla.
He is an imagery analyst with the Army. His wife is the former Lynn Fallert, and they have a daughter, Katie.
