CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Dr. James B. Chapman was guest speaker at a recent conference sponsored by the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
Chapman, a Cape Girardeau cardiologist, discussed directional coronary atherectomy (DCA) at the conference held at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur.
Cardiologists from the greater St. Louis area attended the session, entitled "Coronary Revascularization: Current Concepts of Cases with Interventional Devices."
Also serving as conference faculty were cardiologists Dr. Ronald Krone, Jewish Hospital; Dr. Paul Gibson, St. John's Mercy; and Dr. Frank Aguirre, St. Louis University Hospital.
Chapman has been performing the DCA procedure at Southeast Missouri Hospital Regional Heart Center since late last summer. Chapman is associated with Cardiovascular Consultants of Cape Girardeau Inc. He has served as chairman of the Southeast Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Chapman, a fellow in the American College of Cardiology, holds membership in the American Medical Association, the Cape County Medical Society, and the American Heart Association.
