Patricia C. Coughlin, clinical director of the PMS Program Center at St. Louis, will be guest speaker at "The Woman...The Syndrome," a PMS seminar to be held at the University Center on Southeast Missouri State University Sept. 27.
The 7 p.m. seminar is sponsored by the Rainbow Counseling services. The fee for attending is $5. Additional information is available by calling 339-1450.
Coughlin will also speak during a special program on Channel 13 Sept. 19, at 8 p.m.
Coughlin, who has been named "Outstanding Young Woman" by the St. Louis Jaycees, has masters degrees from St. Louis University Graduate School of Nursing, and the George Warren Brown School of social work at Washington. She received her Ph.D from St. Louis University School of Social Work. Premenstrual syndrome was the subject of her doctoral dissertation.
She is a founding member of the Dalton Society, which is the national organization for research, education, diagnosis and treatment of premenstrual syndrome. Her research on PMS has been published in both nursing and social work professional journals.
