The University of Illinois Contemporary Chamber Players will perform their Electronic/Computer Music production in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University Sept. 27.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m.

The Player's production is composed entirely of new works combining electronic and acoustic instruments.

The Illinois Contemporary Chamber Players comprise one of the oldest music ensembles in the country. The group consists of faculty composers from the University of Illinois who enjoy international reputations for continued excellence in the field of contemporary music.

Zack Browning, composer and trumpet player, is an associate professor of composition and theory at the University of Illinois. As an active composer, conductor and performer, he has played trumpet with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, served as co-director of the Atlanta New Music Ensemble and was a finalist for the Politis Composition Prize.

Erik Lund, composer and trombonist, is an assistant professor of composition at the University of Illinois. His compositions have won the League of Composers-International Society for Contemporary Music and ASCAP composition competitions. He has also received grants for his work from Meet the Composer, the Illinois ARts Council and the Research Board of the University of Illinois.

Paul Marin Zonn is a clarinetist, composer, and conductor. He is chairman of the Composition-Theory Division at the University of Illinois School of Music. In 1992 he was Tennessee Composer of the Year.

Sever Tipei, pianist and composer, holds degrees from the University of Michigan and the Bucharest Conservatory. Most of his works were produced with a computer-assisted composition program that he designed.

Tickets are $4 for the general public and $2 for people under 18 or over 60. Admission is free with a valid Southeast Missouri State University identification.
