OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Steve Hornbeak and three other members of the Lee Greenwood band will perform Feb. 28 at Beginnings in Olive Branch, Ill.
Hornbeak, a native of Tamms, Ill., is Greenwood's keyboard player and also sings for the band.
"We'll be doing some standard Lee Greenwood favorites, but we'll also do a lot of our own material," Hornbeak said in a telephone interview from his home in Nashville, Tenn.
The other band members are drummer Chuck Tilley, bass player John Howard, and guitar player Eric Horner, a native of Paducah, Ky.
Beginnings is a small club that seats about 125. There will be a $6 cover charge.
Hornbeak said the performance might be the first of many in the Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri area for himself and the other band members.
"We'd like to play in that area more often," he said. "These guys are really talented. Their playing ability will really blow your mind. I think as far as playing, I'm probably the weak link out of the four of us. But I'm probably stronger on vocals."
The band is in the middle of touring with Lee Greenwood, and will perform Feb. 29 in Arnold. They also will appear on the television show Nashville Now tonight.
Hornbeak, 28, has been with the Lee Greenwood band for almost three years. He and his wife Alida have a 4-year-old daughter, Jaclyn.
