Seven area residents have received President's scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University during the 1993-1994 academic year.
Those receiving the scholarships are: Sandra L. Bounds and Gregory J. Bone, both of Cape Girardeau; Denise E. Lehmann of Jackson; Jeanna Rae Horman of Gordonville; David A. Kieffer and Gina L. Eftink, both of Chaffee; and Jennifer Marie Felter of Benton.
The President's Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 25 on the ACT, those who rank in the upper 15 percent of their class and score 24 on the ACT, or those who are their class valedictorian or salutatorian.
The scholarship is worth $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for four years if a 3.3 grade point average is maintained.
Bounds, a senior at Cape Girardeau Central High School, plans to major in pre-pharmacy at Southeast. She is the daughter of Emmett and Harumi Bounds of Cape Girardeau.
Bone, a senior at Notre Dame High School, is the son of Jim and Donna Bone of Cape Girardeau.
Lehmann, a senior at Jackson High School, plans to major in accounting at Southeast. She is the daughter of Darlene Kelley of Jackson and James Lehmann of Jackson.
Horman, a senior at Jackson High School, plans to major in nursing at Southeast. She is the daughter of Jerry and Bonnie Horman of Gordonville.
Kieffer, a senior at Notre Dame High School, plans to major in agri-business at Southeast. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Kieffer of Chaffee.
Eftink, a senior at Delta High School, is the daughter of Eugene and Jerralee Eftink of Chaffee.
Felter, a senior at Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, plans to major in recreational therapy at Southeast. She is the daughter of John and Janet Felter of Benton.
