Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Christy M. Hency, 36, of Oran, Mo., as the new Scott County circuit clerk. Hency, who is the chief deputy clerk, replaces Pam Glastetter, who resigned effective Monday after 15 years in office. Hency has worked in the circuit clerk's office since February 2004 and was employed as a clerk in the office from 1997 to 2000. She supervises a staff of 15 as chief deputy and has received the designation of certified court manager from the Institute for Court Management, Nixon noted in a news release announcing the appointment. Glastetter, a Democrat, announced her resignation in October. The office will be on the 2010 ballot.
