Valentine's dinner event planned by Cape church

Jackson church to offer new service option

First General Baptist Church will offer a new approach to worship with its service "Audience of One." The service uses music, drama and multimedia presentations in addition to music from a praise band. The service is at 10:40 a.m. each Sunday in the church gymnasium. Delta church to begin new Bible study

First Baptist Church of Delta will begin a new Bible study series Feb. 22. The study of "40 Days of Purpose" by Rick Warren will include weekly discussions at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday through April 4.

Navigators offer training seminar on discipleship

A discipleship training seminar with Ron Bennett of the Navigators, a para-church organization, will be held in Cape Girardeau Feb. 28 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The seminar, sponsored by several area churches, is for anyone who teaches Bible classes or works in church ministries. The seminar begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. Cost is $10 and includes lunch.

The training seminar is based on the Navigator's 2:7 series for leadership development, which uses practical Bible reading, Scripture memorization and devotion time to train leaders of small groups.
