Voters agreed to add two more places at the table on the Gordonville Area Fire Protection District board, which proponents say will create a more diversified organization and perhaps avoid problems of the past. The measure won easily on Tuesday, with 2,161 of the district's voters saying yes to 287 no votes, or with nearly 88 percent of the vote. A five-member board, as opposed to the current three, may have helped alleviate issues that have led to abrupt dismissals, angry resignations and public outrage over decisions proponents say a larger board could have handled better.
