GORDONVILL STUDENT EARNS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Joel Sander of Gordonville has received the Hattie Eicholtz Memorial Scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University. The scholarship is given to a freshman who has exhibited above-average academic achievement in high school and who is a direct descendant of a former Southeast Missouri State University student.

The scholarship is in memory of Hattie Eicholtz, a 1926 graduate of Southeast, who was the alumni director at the university for 47 years, from 1927 to 1974.

Sander is a 1994 graduate of Jackson High School where he ranked in the top 10 percent of his class. He is the son Roland and Sharon Sander of Gordonville.
