The Cape Girardeau Republican Central Committee will meet Monday to discuss naming potential prosecuting attorney candidates after the resignation last week of Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the County Administration Building, lower level, in Jackson.

Committee members will decide if they want to submit a name or names to Gov. Jay Nixon for consideration, said Holly Lintner, Cape County GOP chairwoman.

Any Cape Girardeau County lawyers meeting the qualifications for the position who would like to be considered by the committee should submit a one-page cover letter and resume to holly.lintner@gmail.com by 3 p.m. Monday. Interested applicants may attend the meeting, which is open to the public.
