__What role did you have in the movie's production? :__
I was hired by craft services to help provide food for cast, crew, and extras. They also filmed on our property in Royal Lake Estates. Search scenes, house scenes, etc. Our home was also used for serving lunch to crew during filming. Our home is seen in the trailer released by 20th Century Fox. Had many meals with David Fincher and all the cast. Such a fun experience for a stay-at-home mom with four kids! Got really good at making Ben his turkey sandwiches!
__What kind of communication did you have with "Gone Girl" staffers? What were they like?:__
They all seemed very friendly when on break. During shoots it was very quiet most of the time. They frowned on talking, noise etc. Difficult to work/direct under those circumstances. We ate two meals together daily. Usually at noon and 6, or 6 and midnight, depending on the shoot. That's when I really got to know most off of them. Even had one assistant director sharing babysitters and going out on weekends while his family was here. Many were from all over: Georgia, Missouri, California. Still keep in touch with my boss from craft services. He recently sent me a "Gone Girl For Stars Catering" shirt. Excited to wear it soon!!
... All were very nice and down to earth. Ben Affleck was very nice. [We had] many conversations about local stuff to do his and his role as Batman and his kids. Very kind and even signed all my sons' Batman "stuff". David Fincher was great. Always willing to talk about whatever. Many conversations about his daughter who plays volleyball in college. He loved the area and was also kind enough for pictures at our home with my son. He took my "Gone Girl" book and had Gillian Flynn sign it for me first. Then he signed it too.
__If you were an extra, how much time did you spend at the shoot?:__
As a craft service staff, I was there any time there was a very large shoot that required extras. I did also get to go to the less public shoots too. Just depended on the day. Every day was different. Some days and some all night shoots too.
__Did anything about your interactions with crew or about the production surprise you? If so, what?:__ How nice they all were and how much they all loved Cape Girardeau.
__What are you most looking forward to most about the movie?:__
Just to see it all put together. I was behind the scenes, so all the endless days and bits and pieces will finally come together!
