The first Washington Elementary School Alumni/Parent Golf Tournament will be held April 11 at the Jaycees Municipal Golf Course.

The event, sponsored by the school's PTA, will benefit Washington Elementary School. The grade school is the oldest active grade school in the Cape Girardeau district. Since the school opened 76 years ago, many people attended the school and are now looking for ways to financially support their alma mater, said Thomas M. Meyer, PTA president.

The event will be the first of its kind for a Cape Girardeau PTA and alumni organization. It will be played as a two-person scramble, men and women, with guaranteed tee times at 8 a.m. A limit of 52 players can compete.

Registration forms will be available at the Jaycees Golf Course or from members of the PTA.
