This is the Henry Taylor Family in 1897 at their home in Tilsit. From left to right are Henry Taylor, Bernice Sheppard Taylor, Bessie Taylor, Vera Gale Taylor, Alvin Taylor, Erna Taylor and Dora Taylor.
This is the Taylor family about three years later. Henry Taylor was the operator of the former rock quarry just north of the present Sunset Hills subdivision on Highway 61 North in Jackson. At noon on the 17th of February, 1918, Henry Taylor was enveloped in flames from an exploding gasoline tank. He was so badly burned that he died at 11 that night. Vera Gayle Taylor was a plumber in Jackson for many years and installed much of the plumbing in residences and business establishments in the city.
