GIRLS COMPETE FOR CHRISTMAS CROWNS

JACKSON -- Several Cape Girardeau County girls are gearing up for Christmas pageants sponsored by the Jacksonian Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.

Young girls will compete in Little Miss Snowflake, Little Miss Snowball, Miss Holly and Junior Miss Christmas at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson High School Auditorium.

Older girls will compete in the same place at 7:30 p.m. that day in the 1995 Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Christmas Pageant.

Prizes include a scholarship, savings bonds and gift certificates.

Contestants for Little Miss Snowflake include:

Kia Ross, 4, the daughter of Michael and Rhonda Ross of Jackson. She enjoys singing "Brother for Sale" and "I See an Alligator" and also likes to dance. She likes watching the Rams play football, and her favorite toys are Barbie dolls.

Allison Nicole Smith, 5, the daughter of David and Sandy Smith. She attends kindergarten at Nell Holcomb School and enjoys singing and dancing. She takes tap, jazz and ballet lessons.

Hailey Rebecca Elaine Maevers, 5, the daughter of Jim and Deb Maevers of Jackson. She loves to draw and color and watch Disney movies, particularly "Pocahontas." She has three brothers and a sister.

Kyndle Brown, 4, the daughter of Ron and Donna Brown of Jackson. She loves singing, arts and crafts and nursery rhymes. Her hobbies include Sunday School New McKendree Dance and Dance Extensions.

Markie Kaylin Sharrock, 4, the daughter of Mark and Cynde Sharrock of Oak Ridge. She likes to watch her big sister, Amanda, play soccer, and she also likes stock car racing.

Karly Michelle Hinkebein, 6, the daughter of Janell and Ennis Hinkebein III of Jackson. She is in kindergarten at Immaculate Conception School. She is an excellent tree climber and also likes coloring contests.

Erika Jo Bening, 5, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bening of Jackson. She attends Tender Care in Jackson and enjoys having friends over. She has a kitten named Tiger.

Mary Amanda Bauer, 4, the daughter of Bob and Teresa Bauer of Cape Girardeau. She likes to dress up in her big sisters' dance and ice skating costumes. Her favorite toys are her Alpha desk and her box of dress-up clothes.

Vanessa Faye Ayers, 5, the daughter of Nancy and Van Ayers of Cape Girardeau. She enjoys being in pageants, reading books, coloring and painting pictures. She has four cats.

Larissa Hanna Petzoldt, 5, the daughter of Larry and LaDonna Petzoldt of Altenburg. She likes to help feed calves on her father's dairy farm and sings in the children's choir at church.

Lauren Elizabeth Schuette, 4, the daughter of Don and Donna Schuette of Jackson. She goes to preschool at Southeast Missouri State University and enjoys music and animals, especially horses.

Brook E. Welker, 5, the daughter of Tonya and Kevin Welker of Jackson. She enjoys playing with her Dalmation, Jasmine, and her Rollerbaby. She also enjoys going to her grandparents' house.

Kellie Marie King, 5, the daughter of Joey and Mary Pat King of Jackson. She likes animals, especially Miss Kitty, her cat. She plays games and draws in the computer.

Andrea Michelle Penzel, 5, the daughter of Philip and Sandy Penzel of Jackson. She likes singing solos in church, playing games on the computer and four-wheeling with her grandpa and grandma.

Erika Paige Cook, 4, the daughter of Jack and Carole Cook. She has fun playing with her best friend, Laura, and with her dog, Tryla. She took swimming lessons this summer.

Contestants for Little Miss Snowball include:

Casey Marie Hinkebein, 8, the daughter of Janell and Ennis Hinkebein III of Jackson. She likes to play piano and T-ball and is on the Queens soccer team.

Rachel Schleicher, 8, the daughter of Kelly and Rick Wolfenkoechler of Jackson. She attends Orchard Elementary and enjoys tap, ballet, acrobatics and cheerleading.

Lacey Nicole Bilek, 6, the daughter of Lisa Bilek of Millersville. She reads and writes after coming home from school and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Nicole Christine Market, 5, the daughter of Kevin and Cheryl Market. She likes to read, play games, attend school and go camping. She plays soccer and is a Brownie.

Alex Anne Troxel, 6, the daughter of Matthew and Sherrie Troxel of Jackson. She is a member of the Royal Ballet Company, Fiesta de Musica Children's Choir and the Jackson Swim Team.

Rachel Marie Kahle, 6, the daughter of Michael and Terri Kahle of Jackson. She likes books, making calendars, playing games, riding her bike and picking flowers.

Emily Louise Lewis, 8, the daughter of Howard and Ellen Lewis of Jackson. She likes playing T-ball in the summer and is taking piano lessons.

Jaime Jackson, 7, the daughter of Kenneth and Lynne Jackson of Sikeston. She is a second-grade student at Kelly Elementary who enjoys working on computers.

Kelli Nagel, 7, the daughter of Mark and Terri Nagel of Jackson. She likes arts, making jewelry, roller skating, bike riding and playing with her friends.

Ashley Nicole Cathcart, 6, the daughter of Eric and Bobbie Cathcart of Jackson. Her special interests include reading, Brownies and spending time with her family.

Kylie Werner, 7, the daughter of Randy and Connie Werner of Jackson. Her hobbies are soccer, T-ball, swimming, ice skating and Nintendo.

Contestants in the Miss Holly pageant include:

Leigh Anne Icaza, 10, the daughter of Ramiro and Dianne Icaza of Jackson. She takes singing and violin lessons and likes to go horseback riding.

April Dawn Niswonger, 9, the daughter of Michael and Nancy Niswonger of Jackson. She likes animals and hopes to become a veterinarian.

Amy Wichern, 9, the daughter of Dennis and Wanda Wichern of Jackson. She likes taking lessons at the Academy of Dance and is active in Brownies.

Theresa Gray, 11, the daughter of John and Becki Gray of Jackson. She enjoys cooking, drawing, music and dancing and loves the outdoors.

Rachel Annalee Fisher, 10, the daughter of Richard and Kimberly Fisher of Jackson. She likes to help other people in school and to rollerblade and ride bikes.

Kieren Rose McManaman, 10, the daughter of Ken and Carol McManaman of Jackson. Her hobbies are playing soccer, collecting Barbie dolls and learning how to twirl the baton.

Ashley Ellen Foeste, 8, the daughter of Julie Allmon of Jackson and Mark Foeste of Cape Girardeau. She likes to read and play school with her brother, James.

Holly Bauer, 10, the daughter of Robert and Teresa Bauer of Cape. Her special interests include baby-sitting and singing, but she also enjoys dancing and playing the piano.

Whitney Werner, 10, the daughter of Randy and Connie Werner of Jackson. Her interests include art, modeling and serving as a hall monitor.

Danielle Cook, 10, the daughter of Jack and Carole Cook of Jackson. She enjoys going to church at First Presbyterian. She attended the 1995 twirling, cheerleading and basketball camp this summer.

Natalie Faye Trankler, 8, the daughter of Frank and Debbie Trankler of Jackson. She likes bowling and is on a league. She has moved into a new house and is making friends at Orchard Elementary.

Amber Utenage, 10, the daughter of Larry and Kim Utenage of Fredericktown. Science, spelling and reading are her favorite subjects at school.

Lindsey Rae Miller, 9, the daughter of Martha and Jim Vangilder and Dana Miller of Jackson. Her favorite sports are softball, basketball, gymnastics, horseback riding and skiing.

Aimee Nicole Polete, 10, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lonny Sheldon and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Polete of Fredericktown. She has fun making new friends, talking on the phone and being in pageants.

Shaelyne McQuay, 10, the daughter of Don and Robin McQuay of Jackson. She enjoys art -- particularly drawing caricatures and pictures of people.

Contestants in the Junior Miss Christmas Pageant include:

Katie Fink, 12, the daughter of Susan and Rick Fink of Jackson. Her interests include swimming, playing sports, reading, softball and watching movies.

Kinsey McManaman, 13, the daughter of Ken and Carol McManaman of Jackson. She is manager of the girls' soccer team at Jackson High School.

Contestants in the Miss Christmas Pageant include:

Jeniese Moyers, 15, the daughter of Steve and Mary Jane Moyers of Glen Allen. She attends Woodland High School, where she is a drum majorette and a teacher's aide.

Sarah Beth Darnell, 14, the daughter of Karen Baker and Ronnie Darnell of Fredericktown. She attends Fredericktown High School and is involved in Future Farmers of America.

McLane Jateff, 16, the daughter of Bruce and Jana Jateff of Cape Girardeau. She is a football and basketball cheerleader at Central High and plays the piano.

Whitney Ryan Rehkop, 17, the daughter of Mike and Rita Rehkop of Fredericktown. She attends Fredericktown High School and is student council president.

Heather Woods, 14, the daughter of Mike and Nancy Woods of Jackson. She likes singing and is in the Chancel Choir at New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Amanda Sneathen, 14, the daughter of Sharon and Wally Eck of Burfordville. She plans to attend college and become a fashion designer and possibly a fashion model.

Sarah Elizabeth Daly, 20, the daughter of William and Sharon Daly. She is a junior at University of Missouri-Columbia and majors in communicative disorders.

Shelly Patrice Johnson, 19, the daughter of Ray and Marleen Johnson of Trenton. She is a sophomore at North Central Missouri College and majors in elementary education.

Molly Lynn Keen, 21, the daughter of Noel and Kinda Keen. She is a senior at University of Missouri-Columbia and majors in textile and apparel marketing.

Susan Jane Pokorny, 20, the daughter of Jim and Rosanne Pokorny of Houston, Mo. She is a senior at Union University and majors in nursing.

Valery Rochelle Price, 20, the daughter of Lorenzo and Merllina Price of Waynesville. She is a junior at University of Missouri-Columbia majoring in health-related professions.

Angela Marie Scherer, 21, the daughter of Gary and Bonnie Scherer of Cape Girardeau. She is a senior at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in agribusiness management.

Cora Jean Forsyth, 18, the daughter of Gene and Brenda Forsyth of Cape Girardeau. She is a freshmen at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in art education.

Rhonda Kay Mask, 21, the daughter of Roland and Deborah Mask. She is a graduate student at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in human environmental studies.

Brandi Danielle Leonard, 19, the daughter of Andy and Peggy Leonard of Jackson. Her main interest is singing and she hopes to become a country-western performer.

Angela Johnson, 21, is a junior at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
