JACKSON -- Several Cape Girardeau County girls are gearing up for Christmas pageants sponsored by the Jacksonian Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.
Young girls will compete in Little Miss Snowflake, Little Miss Snowball, Miss Holly and Junior Miss Christmas at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson High School Auditorium.
Older girls will compete in the same place at 7:30 p.m. that day in the 1995 Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Christmas Pageant.
Prizes include a scholarship, savings bonds and gift certificates.
Contestants for Little Miss Snowflake include:
Kia Ross, 4, the daughter of Michael and Rhonda Ross of Jackson. She enjoys singing "Brother for Sale" and "I See an Alligator" and also likes to dance. She likes watching the Rams play football, and her favorite toys are Barbie dolls.
Allison Nicole Smith, 5, the daughter of David and Sandy Smith. She attends kindergarten at Nell Holcomb School and enjoys singing and dancing. She takes tap, jazz and ballet lessons.
Hailey Rebecca Elaine Maevers, 5, the daughter of Jim and Deb Maevers of Jackson. She loves to draw and color and watch Disney movies, particularly "Pocahontas." She has three brothers and a sister.
Kyndle Brown, 4, the daughter of Ron and Donna Brown of Jackson. She loves singing, arts and crafts and nursery rhymes. Her hobbies include Sunday School New McKendree Dance and Dance Extensions.
Markie Kaylin Sharrock, 4, the daughter of Mark and Cynde Sharrock of Oak Ridge. She likes to watch her big sister, Amanda, play soccer, and she also likes stock car racing.
Karly Michelle Hinkebein, 6, the daughter of Janell and Ennis Hinkebein III of Jackson. She is in kindergarten at Immaculate Conception School. She is an excellent tree climber and also likes coloring contests.
Erika Jo Bening, 5, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bening of Jackson. She attends Tender Care in Jackson and enjoys having friends over. She has a kitten named Tiger.
Mary Amanda Bauer, 4, the daughter of Bob and Teresa Bauer of Cape Girardeau. She likes to dress up in her big sisters' dance and ice skating costumes. Her favorite toys are her Alpha desk and her box of dress-up clothes.
Vanessa Faye Ayers, 5, the daughter of Nancy and Van Ayers of Cape Girardeau. She enjoys being in pageants, reading books, coloring and painting pictures. She has four cats.
Larissa Hanna Petzoldt, 5, the daughter of Larry and LaDonna Petzoldt of Altenburg. She likes to help feed calves on her father's dairy farm and sings in the children's choir at church.
Lauren Elizabeth Schuette, 4, the daughter of Don and Donna Schuette of Jackson. She goes to preschool at Southeast Missouri State University and enjoys music and animals, especially horses.
Brook E. Welker, 5, the daughter of Tonya and Kevin Welker of Jackson. She enjoys playing with her Dalmation, Jasmine, and her Rollerbaby. She also enjoys going to her grandparents' house.
Kellie Marie King, 5, the daughter of Joey and Mary Pat King of Jackson. She likes animals, especially Miss Kitty, her cat. She plays games and draws in the computer.
Andrea Michelle Penzel, 5, the daughter of Philip and Sandy Penzel of Jackson. She likes singing solos in church, playing games on the computer and four-wheeling with her grandpa and grandma.
Erika Paige Cook, 4, the daughter of Jack and Carole Cook. She has fun playing with her best friend, Laura, and with her dog, Tryla. She took swimming lessons this summer.

Lacey Nicole Bilek, 6, the daughter of Lisa Bilek of Millersville. She reads and writes after coming home from school and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
Nicole Christine Market, 5, the daughter of Kevin and Cheryl Market. She likes to read, play games, attend school and go camping. She plays soccer and is a Brownie.
Alex Anne Troxel, 6, the daughter of Matthew and Sherrie Troxel of Jackson. She is a member of the Royal Ballet Company, Fiesta de Musica Children's Choir and the Jackson Swim Team.
Rachel Marie Kahle, 6, the daughter of Michael and Terri Kahle of Jackson. She likes books, making calendars, playing games, riding her bike and picking flowers.
Emily Louise Lewis, 8, the daughter of Howard and Ellen Lewis of Jackson. She likes playing T-ball in the summer and is taking piano lessons.
