At the annual recognition dinner and meeting held recently at Jackson Knights of Columbus Hall, the Tsalagi Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Otahki Council recognized Girl Scouts and adult volunteers for their efforts.
Cadette Girl Scout Rachel Hodo of Jackson, from Troop 212, was recognized as top seller of fall product sales, with $505 sold. The top cookie seller, Brownie Girl Scout Lindsey Breer of Jackson, from Troop 279, sold 400 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
Adults receiving recognition were Barb Bauknecht of troops 143 and 148 for outstanding adult volunteer; and Lora Borgfield of Troop 258, Julia Davis of Troop 197, Sarah Dovin of troops 3 and 279 and Leesa Eddy of Troop 108 for outstanding Girl Scout leaders. All are from Jackson.
Receiving the community partnership award was Ralph Wille of Wille's Bakery in Cape Girardeau, formerly in Jackson, for many years of donating luminary bags for the Christmas Festival of Lights held by the Tsalagi Service Unit on Jackson's courthouse square.
