The Otahki Girl Scout Council has honored seven girls with the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, at St. Vincent's Church.
Gold winners include:
Jessica Fox of Anna, Ill., daughter of Joy and Rick Fox. Her project consisted of an educational evening for first- through fourth-graders and their parents to learn interesting facts about bats.
Heidi Sadler of Anna, Ill., daughter of Jim and Marty Sadler, planned and implemented a day for Brownie Girl Scouts to participate in songs, crafts and games.
Laura Mittrucker of Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jim and Linda Mittrucker, and Amanda Gosche of Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jim and Mary Gosche, collaborated on a career workshop for Cadette Girl Scouts. They invited career women from several fields, including medicine, law, engineering, broadcasting, education and social work, to talk about career opportunities.
Melissa Riney of Perryville, daughter of Larry and Sherry Riney, and Jennifer Favier of Perryville, daughter of Rick and Donna Favier, collected items for the Women's Crisis Center and the food pantry of Perryville for their Gold Award Project.
Cori Hudson of Perryville, daughter of Bob and Darlene Hudson, planned an event for Brownie Girl Scouts to meet girls from other troops while working on crafts projects to benefit residents of the Senior Center.
