JACKSON -- The Girl Scouts Tsalagi Service Unit in Jackson and Oak Ridge held its annual recognition banquet recently, presenting awards to scouts and adult leaders and volunteers.

Outstanding leader awards were presented to Nona Abernathy, Sue Dickerson and Janet Statler. Outstanding volunteer awards were presented to Cheryl Amos, Marilyn Evans and Jill Morgan.

Top cookie sellers within the service unit were also recognized: Brownies Jolene Braeuer, Lacey Inman, Ashley Hardin; Juniors Emilie Statler, Staci Illers, Tiffany Young; Cadettes Renee Schoen, Staci Wendel, Melissa Childers; and Seniors Christi Hubbard, Jamie Wendel and Rachel Goad.

Emilie Statler, Jolene Braeuner and Lacey Inman were also presented a plaque for overall top cookie sales within the service unit, selling 605, 440 and 237 boxes respectively.

The troops selling the most calendars were also honored. Top troops were Brownie Troop 26, Junior Troop 77, Cadette Troop 49 and Senior Troop 113.
