About two-thirds of the price of each box of cookies goes directly to Girl Scouting. All proceeds support the local council; a portion of the money is distributed directly to the troop level, where girls decide how it is spent.

Girl Scout cookie orders will be taken through Jan. 26. Cookies will be delivered in early March.

For more information, call the council office at 334-7741 or (800) 686-0106.
