The Girl Scout Troop #48 of Jackson has developed a patch for the Otahki Girl Scout Council. The name of the patch is "Nuna-da-ut-sun'y" meaning "the place where they cried." Which is one of the names the Cherokee Indians use for what we call "The Trail of Tears."...

The Girl Scout Troop #48 of Jackson has developed a patch for the Otahki Girl Scout Council.

The name of the patch is "Nuna-da-ut-sun'y" meaning "the place where they cried." Which is one of the names the Cherokee Indians use for what we call "The Trail of Tears."

The patch will be given to the scouts when they complete four activities.

Nicole Ramsey presented the patch to Hershel Price, director at Trail of Tears State Park, on Dec. 13.

Lindsey Rhodes presented a patch to Pitter Seabaugh a representative for the Northern Cherokee Nation.

Jennifer Rhodes presented a patch to Timexx Seabaugh, a tribal council member. Timexx will carry this back to the principle chief of the nation Beverly Northup in Columbia.
