A Cape Girardeau man faces three counts of statutory sodomy for allegedly having sex with a minor.
Cape Girardeau police arrested Gary Dee Bice, 42, Friday night. Bice faces three charges of statutory sodomy stemming from an alleged incident on July 23, 2007, according to Missouri Casenet.
According to a probable-case statement signed by Darren Estes of the Cape Girardeau Police Department, the alleged incidents were reported to police Nov. 27.
Interviews with the victim, a girl younger than 12, were performed at the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence. According to the statement, the victim said he abused her for "several years."
Network Against Sexual Violence is where children are typically taken to have forensic interviews conducted in these types of cases, and serves as the child advocacy center for the region.
During an interview at the police department, Bice denied sexual contact with the girl and agreed to a polygraph test. He did not show for the polygraph appointment, which was Friday. Police obtained a warrant with bond set at $50,000 cash only.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Dec. 29.
