The spring conference of District E of the Gifted Association of Missouri will be held March 30 at Southeast Missouri State University.
"Counselors, Parents, and Teachers Working Together for High Ability Students" is the theme of the gathering at the University Center. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The conference will feature presentations on addressing social and emotional needs of gifted children. Presentations include "Chameleon or Class Clown? What to Do With Gifted Kids in Regular Classrooms," "Meeting the Needs of Gifted Girls," "Grass Roots Gifted" and "Underachievement: Myth or Reality?"
The conference is open to parents, students, teachers and counselors. Individuals can register for course credit by attending the conference, and class sessions set for April 12-13.
