GERTRUDE TRESSIE MCVAY

CHAFFEE -- Gertrude Tressie McVay, 79, of Chaffee, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born March 5, 1918, at Camp, Ark. a daughter of Joseph and Sarah Folmsby Duffell. She and William C. McVay were married on Nov. 20, 1939. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the McGee Baptist Church in Grassy.

Survivors include a son, Bill M. McVay of Glen Allen; two daughters, Shelby Hamm of Chaffee and Marilyn Jansen of Leopold; a sister Ethel Douglas of East Prairie; two grandchildren; and a great- grandchild.

Five brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at the chapel with the Rev. William H. Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
