Nov. 1 and 2 are dates of two German dances at the Jackson Knights of Columbus Hall.
On Nov. 1, Marv Herzog and the Bavarian Polka Band from Frankenmuth, Mich., will perform at a benefit dance for Notre Dame High School. The band plays at major German festivals and has recorded close to 30 songs.
The dance begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets are available by calling 334-6111.
On Nov. 2, the German Club of Southeast Missouri will host The Wendl Band of St. Louis. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the dance is from 8 p.m. to midnight. Beer, soda and German food will be available, and reserve tickets are $5.
Brothers Mike and Steve Wendl have been performing together since 1983. They sing in German and have performed on radio. Their entertainment features polkas, waltzes and other popular contemporary music.
