The Cape Girardeau Council of Garden Clubs announced the winners of the June 1 flower show, which was held in the Riverview Center in downtown Cape Girardeau. The theme for the contest was Hollywood. The winners in Section I were: Class 1, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Sue Rademaker; Class 2, "Picnic" by Joan Segraves; and Class 3, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" by Charleen Back...

The Cape Girardeau Council of Garden Clubs announced the winners of the June 1 flower show, which was held in the Riverview Center in downtown Cape Girardeau. The theme for the contest was Hollywood.

The winners in Section I were: Class 1, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Sue Rademaker; Class 2, "Picnic" by Joan Segraves; and Class 3, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" by Charleen Back.

For Section II: Class 4, "Gone With the Wind" by Gerry Ennis; Class 5, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Betty Kuss; and Class 6, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" by Charleen Back.

For Section III: Class 7, "2001: A Space Odyssey" by Ann Crites; "Dances With Wolves" by Betty Kuss; and Class 9, "The Wizard of Oz" by Gerry Ennis.

Section IV had just one winner and that was the Class 10, "A Star is Born" by Traci Blattner.

Division II was horticulture. "How Green was My Valley" was won by Ann Foust. Foust, Carolyn Robinson and Carol Levy won The Horticulture Award of Merit.

Division III consisted of children ages 14 and under. Class 1 was won by Will Tanksley for his "E.T." entry. Nikki Tanksley won Class II for "Mickey and Donald."

Division IV, the educational division, was won by Dianna Thompson for "Butterflies."
