recruitment group
JACKSON - Joe Gambill, plant manager for Biokyowa on Nash Road, was appointed Thursday as a Cape Girardeau County member on the board of the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial Recruitment Association.
The county commission named Gambill to a two-year term in the seven member board. Cape County's other representative is Presiding Commissioner Gene Huckstep.
In making the appointment, Huckstep noted that Gambill has a broad background in industry that will enable him to be an effective member of the group.
Other members of the association board are Mayor Gene Rhodes and Councilman Melvin Gateley, representing the city of Cape; John Mehner, representing the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce; City Administrator Carl Talley, from the city of Jackson; and Mayor Larry Forhan, representing Scott City.
The association approved by-laws last month and will hold a meeting to elect officers and to begin the process of selecting a director at a meeting Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the county commission's chambers in Jackson.
