CAPE GIRARDEAU -- An exhibit of painted and embroidered quilting by regional artist Kathleen Sanjabi will open Sunday at Gallery 100.

"Iris, Orchids & Others" contains floral paintings on cotton with embroidery and hand or machine quilting. Sanjabi, of Carbondale, Ill., has been exhibited in national events such as "Stitchery International" in Pittsburgh, Penn., and "Needle Expressions" in St. Louis.

She was also an exhibitor in the Smith Park Gallery's National Award Winners Show in St. Paul, Minn. Sanjabi participated in the Associated Artists Gallery in Carbondale and has works in both public and private collections.

An opening reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the gallery in Boatmen's Bank building, 100 Broadway.
