COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- A Fulton company is suing the University of Missouri in a dispute over bidding on construction projects.
The Shepherd's Co. contends that the university has unlawfully denied its right to bid. It is asking a Boone County Circuit Court judge to restore the company as an eligible bidder.
The university notified the company in October that its bids on future projects would be rejected, contending that Shepherd's has not released records on its compliance with prevailing wage laws.
Shepherd's has more than 60 owners, all of whom attend Shepherdsfield Church, whose members relinquish personal property to the group.
The Columbia Tribune reports that Jabbock Schlacks, who oversees the partnership, says the company complies with prevailing wage laws. He also denied that it rejected university requests for proof.
