Activities will run all day July 4, in the Jackson City Park.

The Jackson Jaycees' annual holiday schedule includes an annual fun run, mud volleyball, a pedal tractor pull and plenty of food, children's' rides and craft stands. A petting zoo and other events will also be featured.

The day (Tuesday) begins with the Drug Free Council Annual Fun Run at 7:30 a.m. Mud volleyball then begins at 8 a.m.. A car and truck show opens at 9 a.m., along the creek. Judging starts at 12:30 p.m., with trophies awarded at 3 p.m. The Donnie Harris Entertainment System will begin offering entertainment at 10 a.m.

The Karaoke contest starts at 1:30 p.m., with prizes for first, second and third place finishers. All other activities begin at 10 a.m., including Noon Optimist Youth Games, pony rides, the petting zoo and food and craft stands.

The official welcome will be given at 1 p.m. and a vacation trip giveaway will be held at 3 p.m.

Evening events include the Cape County Young Farmers Tractor Pedal Pull at 6 p.m., a Jackson Municipal Band concert at the band shell at 8 p.m. (following presentation of the flags by the American Legion), and a 9:30 p.m. fireworks display.

There is no charge to either the day's events or the fireworks.
